(SALEM, Ore. ) - The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department will present a draft master plan for managing Silver Falls State Park at public meetings Sept. 17th at the park and Sept. 18th in Salem.
Both sessions will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
North Falls Lodge, off Highway 214 at 20024 Silver Falls Highway SE near North Falls, will be the site of the Sept. 17 meeting.
The Sept. 18th session will be in Room 124 across from OPRD headquarters at North Mall Office Building, 725 Summer Street NE, in Salem.
OPRD staff will provide a brief overview of the draft plan and hear comments at both meetings.
The department also will accept written comments through Oct. 17th.
The draft, which is based on goals and objectives framed at preliminary meetings last spring, will be posted on OPRD's website-- www.oregon.gov/OPRD/PLANS/masterplans_draft.shtml --beginning Sept. 17th.
The advisory committee for the plan will meet from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sept. 18th, at the site of the Salem public meeting.
The committee's session is open to the public, but only comments from members will be recorded.
The meeting sites are accessible to people with disabilities.
