Texas Teen Found Strangled in Oregon Apartment

Police are still searching for suspects.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore. ) - The Oregon State Medical Examiners Office, Doctor Larry Lewman, has determined the cause of death concerning the young female homicide victim identified as 15-year-old Dani Jen'e Countryman to be the result of ‘strangulation'.

Dani Countryman of Kaufmann, Texas was discovered by her sister, Ashley Countryman, dead in an apartment Saturday morning at the Balboa Apartment complex, on SE Courtney Road, in the Oak Grove area of Milwaukie.

Shortly after 8:00 AM Saturday morning, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office patrol personnel responded to this reported discovery in Apartment number 21, at the Balboa Apartments, located at 2717 SE Courtney, in Milwaukie.

Clackamas County Major Crimes Unit investigators responded to the scene initiating this ongoing homicide investigation concerning Dani Countryman.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office investigative personnel were on the scene all day Saturday, as they began this homicide investigation talking with a large assortment of individuals in the complex and the processing of the crime scene.

Sunday morning, investigators returned to this secured crime scene at the Balboa Apartment complex, and continued with the forensic processing of the crime scene.

It is reported that Dani Countryman, formerly of Kaufman, Texas was here in Oregon, visiting with her older sister Ashley Countryman who resides in the Portland metropolitan area.

Investigators anticipate concluding the crime scene measurements; forensic processing and search of this apartment late this Sunday afternoon.

Major Crimes Team investigators assigned to this homicide investigation continue to conduct interviews with a reported large pool of individuals related to this extensive homicide investigation.
