Oregon Coast Landmark Dory Cove Re-Opens with New Name

On the evening of November 29th, 2006 a two alarm fire raced through and destroyed the Dory Cove Restaurant.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - The Dory Cove, a famous Oregon coast landmark that was destroyed by a fire last year, is back with a new name and a new location. The owners say the restaurant's famous food and clam chowder remains unchanged.

The family-owned and operated business was originally located at 5819 Logan Road, had been serving Lincoln City residents and coastal visitors for more than 33 years, creating traditions for thousands of Oregon residents.

The Dory Cove in Lincoln City was founded on July 1st, 1973, by Roy Johnson and the Neal family. It is now named Captain Ron's Seafood and Chowder House. The new location is 2981 SW Highway 101 in Lincoln City, a mile south of Lincoln City's Tanger outlet mall.

The restaurant cteam says that due to the encouragement and support from so many people, the creation of Captain Ron's was made possible.

"We are so grateful for the well wishes, offers of help and the successful fundraiser that benefited our staff. We are excited to be offering the same great menu that so many of you loved as well as a few new things for you to try. You will be welcomed by many familiar faces as several of our staff are returning."

They say they want to thank everyone for their patronage over the past 30+ years.
