The victim told police that Moore head butted her nose, breaking it, and continued to hit her so hard on the ear that it ruptured her eardrum.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Canby Police arrested 40-year old Kenneth Gene Moore of Canby today, for Assault III, Strangulation, and Kidnapping II after an incident involving his estranged girlfriend.

Police say the incident started last evening after the suspect and victim had a few drinks at the Denny's restaurant bar in Canby. They left the bar at about 7:30 PM and went to the suspect's home in Canby.

The victim reported that the suspect assaulted her by "head butting" her nose, breaking it, and hitting her so hard on the ear that it ruptured her eardrum. The victim told investigators that she felt that the suspect would harm her further if she attempted to leave.

Police say the suspect continued to hit and threaten her until he took her to her apartment in Canby. While in her apartment, she told the suspect she was going to take a bath. That is when the victim turned on the bathtub and ran out the front door to a neighbors apartment and called police.

Officers arrived and found that the suspect had left the apartment. A Clackamas County K9 Unit was called in to search the area.

The suspect was later found hiding in a closet in his residence. Moore was taken into custody with no further incident and he was lodged at Clackamas County Jail on the above listed charges.
