Flood Advisory Issued For Willamette, Pudding Rivers

The Pudding River is expected to continue to rise today and is forecast to reach flood stage by 1:00 AM Thursday morning.

(SALEM) - The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the Willamette and Pudding Rivers at the following locations:

Willamette:

At Salem: Affecting Marion and Polk counties

At Harrisburg: Affecting Benton, Linn, and Lane counties

At Corvallis

At Albany

At Oregon City: Above the falls affecting Clackamas county

Pudding:

At Aurora: Affecting Marion and Clackamas counties

The Willamette River in Salem is forecast to rise to near 21.9 feet at 10:00 PM Wednesday after Tuesday’s heavy rains.

Flood stage for the river is 28.0 feet and flood flow is 154,000 CFS.

Access roads to the islands on the Willamette River in the Salem-area are expected to begin to flood today or tonight.

The Pudding River is expected to continue to rise today and is forecast to reach flood stage by 1:00 AM Thursday morning.

At 8:00 AM, the river was at 21.4 feet. Flood stage is 22.0 feet.

Only minor lowland flooding is expected.

River stage forecasts are based on observed and forecast rainfall and temperatures.
