So far the suspect has stolen only property found in the garage and it doesn't appear they have entered the house itself.
(SALEM) - Salem Police are investigating several recent home burglaries that involved the suspect breaking into a car and then using the garage door opener to get into the house.
Salem police are urging people to take their garage door opener into the house with them if they are leaving the car outside. Also make sure to lock the garage.
The burglaries that have been reported have all occurred in southeast Salem between November 12th-15th.
All of the incidents occurred at night while the residents were home.
At this time police do not have any suspects but are urging people to be alert to late night prowlers and lock up their property.

5549 Bellflower Ct SE
Occurred 11-12-06 - 8:00 PM to 11-13-06 - 6:30 AM.
Unknown suspect (s) forced a window on a vehicle and opened the garage with the garage door opener. After entering the garage suspects stole scooters, IPOD, garage door openers, business keys.
2276 Songbird Ct SE
Occurred 11-14-06 - 8:00 PM to 11-15-06 - 6:30 AM.
Unknown suspect(s) unlocked vehicle and opened the garage with the garage door opener. After entering the garage suspect(s) stole check books, checks, garage door opener.
5289 Berkshire Ct SE
Occurred 11-15-06 - Midnight to 11-15-06 - 7:00 AM.
Unknown suspect(s) got into unlocked vehicle and opened the garage with garage door opener. After entering the garage suspect(s) stole high end bicycles, tools, garage door openers, house and mail keys.
2175 Woodscape Ct SE
Occurred 11-15-06 - 6:00 PM to 11-17-06 - 6:00 PM.
Unknown suspect(s) got into unlocked car and opened garage with garage door opener. After entering the garage suspect(s) stole camcorder, binoculars, liquor.
