Sheriff's Deputy OK After Thanksgiving Day Crash

The patrol vehicle, a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria sustained rear end damage.

(SALEM) - A Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved Thanksgiving in a single vehicle non-injury accident on Cordon Road, just south of Highway 22.

Just before 5:30 PM, Deputy Steve Cox was responding to a reported two vehicle accident at State St/Cordon Road at the time of his accident.

Deputy Cox was transported by ambulance to Salem Hospital for evaluation and was released.

The accident is under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

At the time of the accident, the weather conditions may have played a part in the accident.

No civilians or civilian vehicles were involved in the accident.
