Bring your ideas and experiences and join others in a discussion about ensuring that every Oregonian has access to affordable health care.
(SALEM) - Oregon Representative Darlene Hooley and Senator Ron Wyden will host a town hall this week in Salem to discuss seniors health care issues.
Some of the topics to be discussed include: Negotiating for lower drug prices; fixing the Medicare “donut hole”; allowing seniors to buy safe and cheaper Canadian prescription drugs.
Hooley says the current situation for some people, is alarming, "All over the country, there are advertisements to buy medicines in bulk and save. However, the prescription drug companies have used their influence in Washington to specifically prohibit Medicare from negotiating better prices for prescriptions."
She says that as a result, America’s seniors pay among the highest prices for medications in the world.
The town hall will take place on Wednesday at the Salem Senior Center, 1055 Erixon Street, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
