Bradbury discusses political opposition to the proposed healthcare bill.
(SALEM, Ore.) - Former Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury who is currently vying for the state's governor's seat, talked to Salem-News.com Sunday, about the nation's healthcare reform legislation that is currently pending in the Senate.
Needless to say, the idea of publicly funded healthcare for Americans is heavily opposed by Republicans, insurance companies and others who benefit from the current arrangement; one that leaves millions of people without any type of coverage and lack of access to healthcare.
Bradbury visited the Salem home of Arnold and Margaret Strong to speak to a gathering of supporters and other Oregonians interested in hearing what Bradbury has to say about the state's future. Arnold Strong is a longtime resident and a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army Reserve, Margaret has worked in a number of areas as a political activist.
In this video Bradbury discusses political opposition to the proposed healthcare bill, he also addresses the fact that Medicare was strongly opposed by Republicans in the beginning, while today strongly backing this program.
Bradbury the only difference with the current legislation, is that public healthcare would cover people under 65.
