Police say the found approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine, 1/4 lb. of cocaine, and nearly $1,450 in cash.
(CASCADES LOCKS, Ore.) - An Oregon State Police traffic stop Tuesday in Cascade Locks led to the discovery and seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine and cash, according to OSP Lieutenant Patrick Ashmore.
He says Tuesday at approximately 11:00 p.m., an OSP senior trooper stopped a driver suspected of driving while intoxicated, in the Cascade Locks area.
"During contact with the driver, identified as 55-year old Antonio Cervantes Castellanos of The Dalles, the trooper saw him attempt to conceal something which was later identified as a small amount of cocaine."
Ashmore implies that the man was uncooperative.
"Despite his efforts to resist arrest, he was taken into custody," Ashmore said.
A subsequent investigation reportedly led to the discovery of approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine, 1/4 lb. of cocaine, and nearly $1,450 in cash.
Ashmore says Mr. Castellanos was lodged at the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility (NORCOR) in The Dalles for Unlawful Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance - Cocaine, and Unlawful Possession and Distribution of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine.
Ashmore did not detail why the man was not also charged with resisting arrest.
Officials say the man posted bail Wednesday morning, pending an appearance in Hood River County Circuit Court.
