Police say the man is the suspect who used a handgun in a recent robbery of a woman in West Salem.
(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police Detectives serving a search warrant just after 4:30 Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of Rosemont Avenue NW, arrested a suspect in a recent armed robbery case.
28-year old Christopher Ryan Santibanez was arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred on April 18th in the parking lot of Safeway, 1455 Edgewater Street NW.
Salem Police Lt. Steve Birr explains that on April 18th, a 25-year old woman was sitting in her vehicle in the West Salem Safeway parking lot just after 10:30 p.m., while her boyfriend was inside shopping.
"She was confronted by a man with a handgun who demanded her purse. The suspect had gotten away with her purse, running west from the location," Birr said.
Santibanez, the suspect in the robbery, was lodged in the Polk County Jail, charged with first-degree Robbery, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
