Women’s Work: Contemporary Women Printmakers

11th annual Star Trees Lighting


The community is invited to the 11th annual Star Trees Lighting Saturday, December 1st at Willamette University. The free program begins at 6:30 PM on the lawn north of Waller Hall and is followed by a free family holiday concert at 7:00 PM in the nearby Smith Auditorium. Seating is limited. Newport Boat Parade

Newport’s Yaquina Bay will get festive in a particularly spectacular way in early December as about a couple dozen boats take to the water gussied up in a variety of lights – all for the charity event known as the 14th Annual Lighted Boat Parade.

On December 1st from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, local lighted boats will make a large loop around the bay, from the Coast Guard Station to the Embarcadero Resort and back, showing off a variety of colorful designs.

Star Trees Lighting

Gather on the lawn north of Waller Hall to watch the lighting of the Star Trees and listen to caroling.
Two children will be chosen to flip the switch to light the trees.
Hot chocolate and cookies will be served starting at 6. Bring your extra coats and/or clothing to donate to
Beta Theta Pi’s annual PennyCoat Drive.

Independence Parade of Lights

The annual Independence Parade of Lights will take place beginning at 5:00 PM.

Refreshments, caroling and a visit from Santa will take place following the parade at the library, which is located at 175 Monmouth St.
