OSCON on a Budget

If open source software is your bag, then you might want to head for the Open Source Convention in Portland.

(PORTLAND) - This week I'm checking in from OSCON in Portland, the eighth annual Open Source Convention, hosted by O'Reilly Publishing at the Oregon Convention Center.

Primarily aimed at informing businesses about the wide array of open source software available, most of the sessions and tutorials are priced at hundreds of dollars each.

Craigslist started in San Francisco in 1995 and grew to 10 cities by 2000, when Portland was added.

Davids Blog

David Duncan has been part of the Salem-News.com team since the beginning in the early summer of 2004. The original Web design was David's work, that is what got the whole thing going in the first place until the arrival of Matt Lintz.

David continues to be involved though his other committments keep him jumping too. David has spent years working as a volunteer at Salem's CCTV, the local community cable access channel.

He has also recently completed working on a full length movie that was approved by the Screen Actors Guild.
